Weather: cloudy and mild with light breeze

Nice lists of birds with a Great Horned Owl in the nest, bald eagles tumbling in the sky, and an assortment of ducks in the open water. Thanks to all the leaders and thanks to all who joined the walks this morning. Let’s do it again in March!

A beautiful morning with many young birds growing during this time of year and many nests: Swainson’s hawk, tree swallows, red-wing blackbirds, and a hairy woodpecker.

A cool morning and mostly cloudy with gentle breezes. 43 attendees and 6 leaders enjoyed the bird walk in 4 groups. Species of birds ranged from 35 to 49. Photos taken by the walk leaders were incredible and included owls, hawks, swallows, and a hummingbird!

Cloudy, breezy in the low to mid 40’s (rain before, snow flurries and windy afterwards).

44 of us braved the elements and caught a window of decent weather for birding on Saturday 4-6-24. Kenna Sue led a shortened walk both by distance and time. We will continue this option in future months.

Next month (May 4, 2024) we have a 7:30am start time as well as the 8:00am start time.

March 2, 2024, A beautiful day with spring like weather and 58 of us (including the 6 leaders) enjoyed the monthly bird walk around Bluff Lake in 4 separate groups! The number of bird species seen ranged from 21 to 30.
